Furniture Safety

Home furnishings — including accent tables, consoles, storage pieces, mirrors and wall-mounted items — should be selected, assembled and placed with safety in mind. This page provides general guidance. Product-specific warnings on each product page take priority.

Tip-over awareness

Tall, narrow or top-heavy pieces can tip if climbed on, pulled or placed on uneven surfaces. Consider stability when placing items near where people lean or where children and pets are present.

• Place heavier items on lower shelves when applicable.
• Do not use furniture not designed for sitting or standing as a step or seat unless weight capacity is verified on the product page.
• Keep top-heavy arrangements away from high-traffic edges where bumping is likely.
• Anti-tip kits or wall anchoring may be recommended for certain products — follow product-page guidance when provided.

We do not make “child-safe” or “tip-proof” claims unless explicitly stated and verified on a specific product record.

Wall mounting

Mirrors, shelves, sconces and other wall-mounted products require appropriate hardware and installation for the wall type. Product pages list mounting requirements and hardware details where verified.

• Confirm the wall can support the product's listed weight before mounting.
• Use only hardware specified or included with the product unless a qualified installer advises otherwise.
• Follow all warnings on the product page — fields showing “Verification required” mean mounting details are incomplete.

In live mode, wall-mounted products are blocked from checkout until mounting hardware and safety details are verified. In demonstration mode, you may explore these records but should treat mounting details as pending.

Glass and fragile components

Mirrors, glass tabletops, glass shades and ceramic components can break if impacted or improperly handled. Review fragile-item packaging and placement carefully. Shipping for mirror and glass items may use specialized packing — see our Shipping Policy.

Assembly

Products marked as requiring assembly include instructions where provided. Follow instructions in the order given. Do not omit hardware or steps. If assembly instructions are pending on the product page, contact us before purchase.

Harbor Home Supply does not offer in-home assembly services unless later configured on this site.

Product warnings

Each product page may list specific warnings — for example, weight limits, mounting requirements or handling cautions. Read warnings before purchase and again when the product arrives. Warnings on the product page and on included labels take priority over general guidance on this page.

What we do not provide

• Structural assessment of walls, floors or ceilings.
• Professional installation services.
• Child-safety certifications or guarantees unless verified on the product.
