Size and Measuring Guide

Measure your space and pathways before ordering. Product dimensions on each page come from product records — always review listed measurements before checkout.

Furnishings that look right in a photo may not fit your room or delivery path. Use this guide to gather measurements before placing an order with Harbor Home Supply. This guidance is general — it does not guarantee fit and is not structural or installation advice.

Before you measure

  • Use a steel tape measure for accuracy. Note whether you record in inches or centimeters.
  • Review the product's overall dimensions, clearance requirements and package dimensions on its product page.
  • Where a field shows “Verification required,” treat dimensions as pending until confirmed.
  • See our Product Materials and Care page for how materials and finishes are described.

Measuring a room

Record wall-to-wall length and width at floor level. Note window sills, baseboards, radiators, outlets and any fixed features that reduce usable floor or wall space. For furniture placement, measure the area where the piece will sit — not just the overall room size.

For wall-mounted items (mirrors, sconces, shelves), measure the available wall width and height, and note the height where you intend to place the piece. Review mounting requirements on the product page.

Doorways and hallways

Measure the narrowest doorway and hallway along the delivery path — width and height. Note any turns, tight corners or low ceilings. Compare these measurements to the product's package dimensions, not just the assembled piece.

If a carton cannot clear a turn, delivery may require unpacking in a hallway or re-routing — confirm pathway constraints before ordering oversized items.

Stairs and elevators

Stairs

Measure stair width, ceiling height above the treads (at the lowest point), landing dimensions and any handrail obstructions. Long or wide cartons may not navigate tight stairwells even when the assembled product would fit the room.

Elevators

Record interior cab width, depth and door opening height. Note whether furniture must enter on its side or end. Building rules vary — check with your building management if applicable.

Category-specific tips

Rugs

Measure the floor area you want covered. For rugs under furniture, allow enough border beyond table or sofa legs for the layout you prefer. Rolled rugs ship in cylindrical cartons — check package length against your delivery path.

Mirrors and wall décor

Measure the wall area and confirm the product's listed width and height fit within that space, accounting for adjacent furniture, switches and trim. Review weight and mounting details on the product page.

Consoles and accent tables

Measure length, depth and height of the intended location. Allow clearance for doors, drawers and walkways. Compare depth to traffic paths so the piece does not obstruct movement.

Lamps and lighting

For table lamps, confirm height relative to tables and nearby objects. For wall sconces, measure height from the floor and distance from adjacent features. Review electrical specifications on the product page and our Lighting Safety page.

Package dimensions

Delivery fit depends on shipping cartons, which may be larger than the assembled product. Always compare package width, height and depth (when listed) against doorways, stairs and elevators. Multi-box items ship in separate cartons — review each listed package size.

Inch and centimeter conversion

Product pages display dimensions in inches unless otherwise noted. To convert:

  • Inches to centimeters: multiply by 2.54 (e.g., 24 in × 2.54 = 60.96 cm)
  • Centimeters to inches: divide by 2.54 (e.g., 60 cm ÷ 2.54 ≈ 23.6 in)

Round sensibly for planning, but use exact product-listed dimensions for final decisions.
